ABOUT THE ARTIST
Jane Reichle (b. 1998, Bryan, TX) is a self-taught embroidery and textile artist based in Austin, Texas. In 2022, Reichle exploded onto the scene and made waves in the industry after a series of sold-out gallery exhibitions and a prominent feature in Texas Monthly. Each of her pieces is a one-of-a-kind gem. She tells a resonant story— her concepts and narratives are then transferred onto fabric through the intricate art of hand-stitching. Reichle’s delicate handwork is imbued with a sense of heartfelt reflection and originality.
Reichle draws inspiration from an eclectic blend of sources, including the legendary Nudie Cohen and the bespoke western wear fashion scene. Furthermore, she delves into the world of old-school American tattoos for additional inspiration and counts her eccentric Austin-based friends as a wellspring of creative energy. She explores time and memory in her work, creating a nostalgic yet contemporary reflection of Texan life. Her embroidery is a testament to her integrity, attention to detail, and the love she pours into each piece.

Art Talk: Shape Shift | Grids & Surfaces
Join ICOSA Collective for an engaging Art Talk exploring the creative processes and philosophies behind Shape Shift | Grids & Surfaces, featuring artists Monica Mohnot and Juliette M. Miller Herrera Nickle. This dynamic exhibition celebrates the interplay of material, identity, and design, showcasing how two contemporary artists push the boundaries of their mediums to create works that oscillate between the personal and the universal.
Monica Mohnot breathes life into textiles through bold, hand-woven canvases, where saturated hues and intricate stitching become a medium for exploring her Indian American identity. Her works are vibrant, tactile stories, weaving together cultural narratives and personal experiences.
Juliette M. Miller Herrera Nickle channels the Bauhaus lineage into the future with illuminated, sculptural collages that challenge the flatness of traditional grids. Her work, steeped in familial connections to the Bauhaus movement, transcends time and space, presenting geometric abstractions that pulse with energy and tension.
This talk delves into how these two artists transform form and material into a shared visual dialogue. Learn about their inspirations, techniques, and the evolving relationship between identity, history, and design.
Don’t miss this opportunity to engage directly with the artists and uncover the layers of meaning behind Shape Shift.
