DAWA is a platform that invests in BIPOC community and culture, located at Canopy, an arts community in East Austin, Texas.

DAWA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that honors, celebrates, and empowers the essential work of BIPOC community frontliners through direct financial support and culturally relevant health-centered programming.

Giving to the givers through direct investment in the creatives, teachers, social workers, healthcare providers, and service industry workers has an amplifying effect that creates a lasting impact on overall community health and well-being.

In partnership with SXSW, Vision:8291 focuses on centering and elevating the work of visionary BIPOC artists and leaders with the intention of annually raising funds to directly support the work of Austin-based BIPOC-led grassroots organizations.
Since 2019, the DAWA Fund has provided low-barrier direct financial support to Austin’s BIPOC community frontliners. Nearly $300,000 has been distributed as part of our ‘giving to the givers’ mantra.
